The Candle Accident

I normally dont post on here but I have some funny pics that I wanted to share.

A couple days after we moved in J thought it would be pretty to put some of our candles in the fireplace. He lit them one nite, it was really pretty. No problems.

Fast forward to the next evening, he was out running errands and I settled into my scrapping frenzy for the evening. We found the rest of our candles so the fireplace was filled with quite a few candles so I thought it would be nice to light them.

So I am happily scrapping away when I notice a really strong wax smell and some light emanating from the fireplace. I go in to check on the candles and the entire fireplace is fully of fire! One of the candles had a raffia band around it and I guess it burned low enough to catch on fire. So now there is wax pouring all over the fireplace. I grab a glass of water and douse the fire.

I obviously had some explaining to do when J got home!

I thought I would clean it up...I started pulling the chunks of wax, but when I went to pull out one of the candles the WHOLE THING came up.

All better now! That was easy!

So needless to say...im banned from candles for a while.
